The BFG Summary
This is the tale that follows the adventures of a young orphan named Sophie. One night, Sophie peeks out of her bedroom window and spots a giant roaming the streets. To prevent her from revealing his existence, the giant kidnaps her and takes her to Giant Country. This giant, however, is different from the others—he is the Big Friendly Giant (BFG), who spends his nights collecting and delivering dreams to children.
The BFG explains to Sophie that he refuses to eat humans, unlike the other giants, who nightly roam the world to feast on children. Sophie learns about the cruel and fearsome giants like Bloodbottler and Fleshlumpeater, who pose a constant threat to children everywhere. Despite his size, the BFG is kind-hearted and only eats a foul-tasting vegetable called a snozzcumber.
Determined to stop the child-eating giants, Sophie and the BFG come up with a daring plan. They create a special dream to convince the Queen of England about the giants' existence and the danger they pose. With the help of the BFG, Sophie places the dream into the Queen’s mind while she sleeps.
Upon waking, the Queen is convinced by the vivid dream and Sophie's story. She enlists the help of her army and air force to capture the giants. Guided by the BFG, the military travels to Giant Country and, in a daring operation, captures the giants while they sleep. The giants are then imprisoned in a deep pit, where they can no longer harm anyone.
As a reward for their bravery, Sophie is given a loving home in the Queen's palace, and the BFG is honored for his help. Sophie and the BFG become great friends and continue their adventures together. The BFG goes on with his dream-catching work, now with Sophie by his side, ensuring sweet dreams for children around the world.
